Getter Farms

Est. 2008

“Getter” is the middle name of David Getter Yowell—who purchased the first property of what is now Getter Farms. Yowell purchased a 407 acre property in La Cygne, Kansas in 1977. Over the next 30 years, that property would become a central part of not only David’s life, but also of his son Jeff’s life.

In 2008, Jeff Yowell purchased the La Cygne property from his parents and created Getter Farms—in recognition of his father’s love of the La Cygne property and the outdoors. In 2009, Jeff purchased a 438 acre migratory wetland located within a few miles of Grand Pass Conservation Area (CA) in Central Missouri. In 2010, Jeff purchased a 97 acre property also located within a few miles of Grand Pass Conservation area. These three properties make up Getter Farms.

The purpose of Getter Farms is to provide lasting memories to all who experience it and to support rural communities in a variety of ways.

Be sure to read “View from the Blind” for updates during the hunting season.

Getter Farms is a strong supporter of Ducks Unlimited.

Crazy ice on river

Never seen this before and can’t explain it. Large chunks of ice bunched up on river with river at flood stage moving fast underneath it.

New Calf

Our newest calf was smart to be born in near negative temps. Got to sleep in a private warm bed on our heated shop floor …

Missouri Mallard Limit

Great five man limit of mallards at Maple Ranch.
