Getter Farms

About Getter Farms

“Getter” is the middle name of David Getter Yowell—who purchased the first property of what is now Getter Farms. Yowell purchased a 407 acre property in La Cygne, Kansas in 1976. Over the next 30+ years, that property would become a central part of not only David’s life, but also of his son Jeff’s life.

In 2008, Jeff Yowell purchased the La Cygne property from his parents and created Getter Farms—in recognition of his father’s love of the La Cygne property and the outdoors. Over the next 10+ years, Jeff would purchase an additional 1,500 acres (primarily in the LaCygne, KS area). These properties make up Getter Farms.

The purpose of Getter Farms is to provide lasting memories to all who experience it and to support rural communities in a number of ways.

Be sure to read “View from the Farm” for updates during the year – and especially during hunting season!

Getter Farms is a strong supporter of Ducks Unlimited.
